During my Game Design semester, in collaboration with my project group, we undertook a project for Enversed Studios, focusing on the YawVR product—a chair designed to simulate game motion, particularly within the realm of virtual reality (VR). Our project revolves around the development of a Hovercraft simulation game within the VR environment. Throughout the project, I assumed the dual roles of Scrum Master and developer, contributing to both the organizational and technical aspects of the initiative.
Adapting to Unreal Engine after becoming familiar with Unity in the first half of the semester posed a significant challenge for this project. Shifting from a program I knew well to one where I lacked expertise required investing additional time to learn the new tools and functionalities of Unreal Engine.
In conclusion, our team's efforts culminated in the successful delivery of a game that met our client's expectations. The positive feedback from our client affirmed our commitment to the project and highlighted our ability to navigate challenges effectively. Personally, this experience allowed me to delve into the intricacies of Unreal Engine VR, improving my skills in game development within a virtual reality context. Additionally, stepping into the role of Scrum Master provided valuable insights into project management and team collaboration. Overall, the project served as a rich learning experience, equipping me with a diverse set of skills and knowledge that will undoubtedly contribute to my future work in game design and development.
